Publication of a Chinese-language Manners Guide for Tourism Operators
February 24, 2026 (Tuesday) –
We will publish a Simplified Chinese version of a phrase guide promoting tourism etiquette that tourism operators can use when communicating tourism manners to international visitors.

Publication of the Kyoto Tourism Etiquette Map
Distributed from November 20, 2025
The Kyoto Tourism Morals Map, which promotes tourism manners and etiquette in Kyoto, is being distributed at locations such as the Kyoto General Tourist Information Center and the Kyoto City Tourism Association Office.
It can also be viewed and downloaded from Kyōnabi Online.

Promoting Tourism Etiquette Using Manga Characters from Kodansha
November–December 2025
Posters and digital signage featuring popular manga characters from Kodansha will be displayed at locations such as Kyoto Subway Station and Shijo Station.
The posters will pair scenes from these manga, which are also popular overseas, with easy-to-understand and engaging messages about proper behavior in Japan—such as being considerate when taking photos so as not to block others, queuing properly on public transportation, and refraining from littering—helping tourists learn about tourism and everyday manners in a fun way.

Implementation of Tours from Kyoto Station Led by Kyoto City–Certified Tour Guides
Weekdays, October 6–31, 2025
Tours departing from JR Kyoto Station, led by Kyoto City–certified tour guides (Kyoto City Visitors Hosts), will be conducted for international tourists. These tours offer participants not only the opportunity to enjoy Kyoto’s history and culture, but also to experience Kyoto’s tourism etiquette, including the appeal of hands-free sightseeing and proper behavior on trains.
Destinations: Arashiyama Area / Fushimi Inari Area — 2 courses in total
